What’s the Viv Sticker and how does it work?

Here’s what you need to know:

I. What does the Viv Sticker stand for?

When you get stickered with Viv, you let folks know that:

1. You care about green and the environment. Check.
2. You think businesses and other organizations should operate more sustainably. Check.
3. Over time you want to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Check.

II. What will I be able to do with my Viv Sticker?

While Viv businesses will no longer be keeping a count of how many Viv stickers they’ve seen (that was sooo last decade), you will still be able to use your Viv sticker (“smacked” on the front of your credit or debit card) to:

1. Share that you care.  The sticker is a very visible way to let friends, family, and more know that you care about the environment and that you want your community to be more eco-friendly & sustainable.
2. Get discounts at select businesses (e.g., 10% off at Sports Basement in San Francisco). For a full list of discounts, please see Viv Discounts in San Francisco. If you are interested in having more businesses offer a discount (no matter where they are in the U.S.), have them email us directly at Partners@VivBizClub.com.
3. Help the organizations you’re involved with become more sustainable. No matter where you work (or play), you can use your sticker to tip organizations off to Viv and have them contact us – for example, how they can start buying more green ( for less green… as in money!) through the Viv Biz Club.

What’s Viv Biz Club

During the course of building Viv, we found that one of the best ways to motivate and help businesses become more eco-friendly was by helping them save money on eco-friendly supplies and services.

And that’s why we built the Viv Biz Club.

Viv Biz Club is a green group purchasing organization focused on getting organizations access to deep discounts on eco-friendly & sustainable products. We’ve developed relationships with suppliers of sustainable office supplies, food ware, cleaning supplies, and more who are giving our businesses up to 80%(!) off their list prices on eco-friendly products.

This cooperative is where the Viv team will be predominantly focused and you can learn more about Viv Biz Club (or Viv Business Club as some like to say) through this site.  So don’t be bashful, take a look around, and maybe the Biz Club can help your business or organization be more eco-friendly too…

DoYouViv.com & The Viv Sticker Program

First launched in January of 2009, the Viv Sticker Program started as a green loyalty program designed as a simple way for anyone to help their local businesses become more eco-friendly. You’d put a Viv sticker (see image above) on your credit card and show it at any of 70+ businesses partnered with Viv across the city of San Francisco. These businesses would then make green changes to their stores as they saw more stickers come through (e.g., after seeing 50 stickers a business would switch to biodegradable cleaning products). Vivers could also receive discounts at select businesses (and some times bigger specials at select times) when they showed their sticker.

Evolving the Viv Sticker: In early 2010, we decided to evolve the Viv sticker to focus on the core pieces of the program that were most impactful and most valuable to our members. In particular, those items include:

1. The ability to access big discounts on eco-friendly products -> Viv Biz Club
2. The ability to share that you care about the environment in a very simple way -> The Viv Sticker
3. The ability to get access to discounts at local businesses that operate sustainably -> The Viv Sticker
